Alation

Alation provides a data intelligence platform that began as a data catalog and now spans governance, lineage, quality and data products. It indexes metadata from warehouses, BI tools and databases so analysts, engineers and AI applications can find data, see where it came from and understand how it is defined. Governance teams use it to apply policies, curate critical data elements and document AI assets for compliance. A data products marketplace lets teams publish and request governed datasets, and agents and connectors extend it to AI workflows. Alation is headquartered in Redwood City, California, and sells to large enterprises.
