Open-source backend built on Postgres: database, authentication, auto-generated APIs, file storage, realtime and edge functions.

About Supabase

Supabase gives developers the backend of an application without assembling it from separate services. Each project is a full Postgres database, from which REST and GraphQL APIs are generated automatically. Authentication handles sign-ups and logins and ties into Postgres row-level security to control who can read what. Storage keeps and serves files such as images and videos, Realtime pushes database changes to connected clients, Edge Functions run custom server-side code, and Vector stores and searches embeddings for AI features. The code is open source and can be self-hosted, or run on the managed cloud. It is used by startups, independent developers and product teams, often as an alternative to Firebase.
