Microsoft Azure

Microsoft Azure is a public cloud platform on which organisations run applications and store data in Microsoft's data centres instead of their own. It offers virtual machines, containers and serverless functions for compute, object and file storage, managed databases, networking and analytics services, as well as AI services including access to OpenAI models. Identity and access are handled through Microsoft Entra, and Azure DevOps and GitHub cover the delivery pipeline. Hybrid options let companies manage on-premises servers together with cloud resources. Azure is used by enterprises, software vendors and public bodies, particularly those already equipped with Windows Server, SQL Server and Microsoft 365.
