Chargeback, operating at chargeback.io, sells chargeback prevention software to e-commerce and subscription businesses. Merchants connect a payment processor such as Stripe, Shopify Payments, Braintree, Airwallex, PayPal, Chargebee or Recurly. As an official partner of the card network alert programs Ethoca and Verifi, the service receives notice of disputes before they become chargebacks, matches them to the right transaction and can refund them automatically. This keeps dispute ratios low, which helps merchants avoid Visa and Mastercard monitoring programs, fines, rolling reserves and payment account shutdowns. Alerts can also be sent to Slack. The company was founded by three brothers who previously ran e-commerce stores and Dropship.io.
