dbt Labs

dbt Labs develops dbt, a tool that data teams use to transform raw data inside their warehouse. Analysts write models as SQL select statements, and dbt works out the dependencies, runs them in order and materialises tables and views. Models are kept in version control, tested for quality, documented and shown in a lineage graph, which brings software engineering practices to analytics. dbt Core is open source and runs from the command line, while the hosted dbt platform adds a development environment, scheduling, a catalogue and a semantic layer. It is used by analytics engineers, data engineers and analysts.
