The tool is great to monitor SEO but frustrated to have to pay this much to unlock GEO monitoring as well.

Semrush has one of the biggest and oldest keyword databases in the industry, and that is still the main reason to pay for it. Coverage is deep, the historical data is there, and for core SEO and paid search work it stays dependable in a way most newer tools aren't. The one area where I'd temper expectations is the AI SEO add-on. It feels like they built it with the same complexity as their main SEO suite instead of starting small and accurate. The topics it surfaces often don't make sense, and the data from the add-on still isn't available through the API, so you can't pull it into your own reporting or workflows yet.
