Visual workspace for flowcharts, wireframes, mind maps and docs.
About Whimsical
Whimsical is a place to think visually as a team. It combines flowcharts for processes and user flows, wireframes for low-fidelity screen layouts, mind maps that organise ideas as a tree, and documents that sit alongside the visuals, all on shared boards. The set of tools is deliberately small and fast, and several people can edit and comment at the same time. It is used by product, design and engineering teams.

Whimsical is a great platform for mapping out processes, clarifying your thinking, and laying out complex (or simple) structures through diagrams. It offers a wide range of features that let you create pretty much anything you want, sharing is easy, and the whole experience is quite interactive. The only downside is that the platform has become noticeably more complex lately, so it's less intuitive than it used to be, at least when you just want to put together a diagram quickly.

Whimsical is my go-to for flowcharts and process maps. It's fast and intuitive: I can sketch out a workflow in minutes without fighting the tool, and the result looks clean and professional by default, which makes it easy to share with stakeholders. The main limitation is customization. Styling and layout options are fairly restricted if you want more control over how diagrams look. For quickly turning a process into something clear and readable, though, it's hard to beat.
