About Yaak

Yaak is a desktop API client for macOS, Windows and Linux, built by the original creator of Insomnia and launched publicly in January 2024. Developers use it to send and debug HTTP, REST, GraphQL, gRPC, WebSocket and server-sent event requests, inspect responses and timelines, organize requests into workspaces and environments and chain values between calls with template functions. Work stays on the user's machine with no account, cloud sync or telemetry, and teams collaborate by storing requests as YAML files in Git, with optional encrypted secrets. Plugins, a CLI and an MCP server let scripts and AI agents use the same requests. The source is MIT licensed, and commercial use of the official app requires a paid license.
