3CX develops a business phone system delivered as software instead of dedicated hardware. A company installs it on its own server, in its own cloud account, or uses the version hosted by 3CX, connects SIP trunks from the telecom operator of its choice, and employees then make and receive calls from desk phones, a web client or mobile apps. Beyond telephony, it includes video conferencing, website live chat, SMS and WhatsApp messaging, call queues and reporting for contact centres, and CRM integrations. Licensing depends on system size and edition, not on a per-user fee. It is sold through a network of resellers and IT service companies to businesses of all sizes.
