Figma lets designers, product managers and developers work on the same design file at the same time, in the browser. It covers the path from early ideas to the specifications developers build from. Figma Design handles interface design, prototyping and design systems, Dev Mode gives developers measurements, assets and code snippets, FigJam is an online whiteboard for workshops and diagrams, and Figma Slides makes presentations. Newer products publish websites and generate prototypes with AI. It is used by product design teams and everyone who works with them.

Figma doesn't make much sense anymore now that Claude is here to handle both design and development. I still use it, though, because all my assets are archived there (marketing materials, product UI, etc.), so it's basically acting as my Drive these days. It's still useful for structured teams with dedicated UI/UX designers, even if Claude is already doing pretty impressive stuff on that front, including collaboration, and it's only going to get better.

Figma has probably had the biggest impact on my marketing team of any tool we use. It removed so much friction between an idea and execution. Everyone can collaborate, iterate, and give feedback in one place, while staying aligned with design. The best tools don't just make people faster. They make more people capable of doing great work. Figma nailed that.
